Our commitment in plain language
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people with disabilities. If something on this site is difficult to access, please contact us directly at (289) 673-1355 or info@chase-cabinetry.com and we will do our best to help.
1. Why this policy exists
Chase Cabinetry’s website is one of our primary ways of communicating with existing and prospective clients. We want it to be usable by everyone, regardless of how they access the internet or what assistive technologies they use.
We are also required by law to make our website accessible under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR), which requires public-facing websites to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA standard.
We have chosen to work toward the more current WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard, which builds on and improves the 2.0 guidelines.
2. Our accessibility standard
Chase Cabinetry is committed to conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines are organized around four principles: content should be:
- Perceivable — information and the user interface must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive
- Operable — interface components and navigation must be operable by all users
- Understandable — information and the operation of the interface must be understandable
- Robust — content must be robust enough to be interpreted by a wide variety of current and future assistive technologies
Level AA is the standard required by Ontario’s AODA legislation and represents a practical, meaningful level of accessibility for most users.
3. What this means in practice
In working toward WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, we aim to ensure that this website:
- Works with screen readers and other assistive technologies
- Can be navigated using a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse
- Uses sufficient colour contrast so that text is readable
- Includes text alternatives for non-text content such as images
- Does not rely on colour alone to convey information
- Uses clear, consistent navigation
- Does not contain flashing content that could cause seizures
New content and features are developed with accessibility in mind from the start. Existing content is reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis as the site is maintained and improved.
4. Third-party content and tools
Some content or functionality on this site may be provided by third-party developers or platforms. We require that third-party providers meet the same WCAG 2.1 AA standard where possible, and we request accessibility conformance information from any vendor supplying tools or software used on this site.
Where a third-party component falls short of the standard, we work to find an accessible alternative or provide an equivalent means of access.
5. If you have difficulty accessing this site
If you encounter a barrier on this website — a page that does not load correctly with your assistive technology, content you cannot access, or a form that does not work as expected — please let us know.
Contact us by:
- Phone: (289) 673-1355
- Email: info@chase-cabinetry.com
- Contact form: chase-cabinetry.com/contact
When you contact us, please describe the page or feature you had difficulty with and what you were trying to do. We will respond as quickly as possible and, wherever we can, provide the information or service you need in an alternative format.
No one should be unable to get information about our services because of an accessibility barrier on this site. If that happens, call us and we will help you directly.
6. Alternative formats
If you need any information from this website in an alternative format — such as large print, plain text, or read aloud over the phone — please contact us at (289) 673-1355 or info@chase-cabinetry.com and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
7. Ongoing commitment
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review this policy and the accessibility of our website at least once a year, and whenever significant changes are made to the site.
We welcome feedback from users about accessibility barriers they encounter. This feedback helps us prioritize improvements and make the site work better for everyone.
